Jillian Mayer’s Sink Holes sconces begin as collages of fused glass, heated and slumped in a kiln until their layered compositions soften into gently irregular forms. Bands of transparent, translucent, and opaque glass overlap across the surface, allowing light to pass through unevenly and shifting the work between clarity and obscurity.
