Mark Pavlovits’ Obsidian Shard explores obsidian as nature’s own glass. Polished planes meet raw, fractured stone, while flashes of metal leaf illuminate the dark surface like mineral deposits caught within the earth. Conceived as both an ornament and a prototype for future chandelier components, the piece marks a new evolution in Pavlovits’ decades-long study of glass and natural form.
