Antoine Moulinard’s Untitled Ornament 2 – Blue Green comes from the spontaneous, naïve graffiti and automatic drawings found on public toilet doors and school desks—small, often silly traces of everyday human expression. Airbrushed slips and sgraffito engraving animate the Limoges porcelain surface beneath transparent glaze, gold, and platinum lustres, while a tiny handmade porcelain chain completes the piece. Antoine Moulinard is a ceramic artist based in Brussels. Inspired by the practices of outsider artists, popular or folkloric artistic expressions, and medieval art, Antoine creates functional art works that he brings together to form Gesamtkunstwerk-like installations. His practice unfolds through hybrid, often expressive and narrative forms, combining humour, queer symbolism, and references to vernacular craft traditions. In this way, he explores the political and affective potential of objects, moving between sculpture, furniture, and reinvented domestic environments.
